There are many situations related to health that happen in the daily routine and you don’t even understand that whether you have to go to an emergency or an urgent care doctor. Sometimes, you fall from the stairs and can’t put the weight on your body, your child may get high fever on Sunday morning, and you may get pain on midnight. All these situations must be handled properly in order to get relief at the right time. There is a slight difference between emergency care and urgent care. You have to understand the difference between the two and decide according to it.
Difference between Emergency room, Walk-in clinic, and Urgent Care:
The difference between the emergency and urgency is always confusing to understand as both the terms imply the same urgent situations. Urgent care is needed when you need urgent treatment but your primary doctor is not available. In this situation, you don’t have to go to an emergency clinic but to an urgent care doctor. When your primary care doctor is not available then the walk-in doctors are there to fill this gap.
For example, if you have neck pain or back pain and your primary care doctor is not present to treat you at the proper time then you should move to the urgent care clinic so that the pain does not lead to serious illness if left untreated. But in the other situation, if you got a heart attack or severe cut on your hand then urgent care doctor can do nothing and you have to visit the emergency clinic on an urgent basis.
The walk-in doctor can be the primary care or an urgent care doctor. You have to seek an appointment before going to the primary care doctor but not for urgent care. There is a minor difference in all the three types of doctors but their need just depends on the situation and disease, you are suffering from.
