UTI is a common infection among women in the bladder, ureter, and urethra.  Symptoms can include but not limited to burning on urination, frequency urinating, urgency urinating, cloudy urine with an odor, blood in urine, and pelvic pain.  Most common causes are bacterial cystitis and bacterial urethritis. Common risk factors include but not limited to being female, abnormal urinary tract, stroke, urinary tract blockage, Diabetes, pregnancy,spinal cord injury catheter use, suppressed immune system, old age, sexual intercourse. Diagnosis is made via history taking, examination, urinalysis, treatment is often antibiotics and increase fluids intake.  UTI is leading cause of sepsis in elderly and often presents with change in mental state, fatigue, fever.
